The wheel travels inside the link after #, which is never sent to our server.

Each slice is painted in its own color. Spin, and the result shows the color name and its hex code.

How to use the random color wheel

Pick a set (rainbow, basic 12, pastels or neutrals) and spin. The result window shows the color, its name and its hex code, ready to copy into a design tool or a paint app.

    Add your own colors

Type a name followed by a hex code on its own line, for example Coral #FF7F50. The slice is painted in exactly that color and the result shows the code. Lines without a code get colors from the wheel palette.

    Ideas

    • Drawing challenges: spin two or three colors and use only those.
    • Color of the day for outfits or classroom themes.
    • Teaching color names to young children.
    • Picking a team color or a party theme.

    Questions

How do I get a random color?

Choose a color set and spin. Each color has an equal slice and an equal chance.

Does the result include the hex code?

Yes. The result window shows a swatch, the color name and the hex code.

Can I add my own colors?

Yes. Type a name and a hex code on one line, such as “Coral #FF7F50”.

Is this the same as an artist’s color wheel?

No. An artist’s color wheel shows how colors relate to each other. This is a spinner that picks one color at random.
