How to use the wheel spinner
- Add your entries. Type or paste them into the box, one per line. You can also import a .txt or .csv file. Emoji work too 🎉.
- Spin. Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl + Enter.
- Read the result. The winner pops up. Remove it from the wheel, or spin again. The Results tab keeps every spin, and you can export it as a CSV file.
- Save or share. Save keeps the wheel in this browser. Share gives you a link, an embed code for your own website, and a link for OBS.
Everything this wheel can do

A wheel of names for classes, teams and giveaways
The wheel opens with eight example names: replace them with your own list and it becomes your wheel of names. Paste a whole class register or a column from a spreadsheet, and press Remove duplicates if anyone is listed twice. Turn on automatic removal when every name should come up once, or add a second wheel with tasks so one spin gives each person a job.
Weights: a bigger slice is a bigger chance
Open Weights under the entry box and give an entry a number from 1 to 1,000. An entry with weight 3 gets a slice three times as large as an entry with weight 1, and exactly three times the chance. Because the slice size always equals the chance, nobody can hide weights on this wheel: a small Weighted label also appears above the wheel whenever weights are in use.
Is the wheel fair?
The winner is chosen before the animation starts, with crypto.getRandomValues, the same random source browsers use for security. Whole numbers are drawn with rejection sampling, so every slice gets exactly its share. The animation then stops at a random point inside that slice. We ran the same code 1,000,000 times and published every count on the fairness page, where you can also run your own test.

Is this wheel spinner free?
Yes. There is no account and no sign-up. Your entries stay in your own browser.
Can I create my own spin the wheel?
Yes. Type your own options into the box, change the colours, spin time and sound in Options, then press Save to keep the wheel or Share to send it to someone.
How do I make a wheel of names?
Delete the example names, then type or paste your own, one name per line. The wheel redraws as you type. Press Spin, and press Save if you want the same wheel of names next time.
What is a picker wheel called?
It goes by many names: wheel spinner, spin the wheel, random wheel, name wheel, prize wheel or decision wheel. They all do the same job: every entry gets a slice and the wheel lands on one at random.
How does a random wheel generator work?
It turns your list into slices, picks one entry with a random number, then animates the wheel so it stops on that entry. On this site the pick comes first and the animation only shows it, so the speed of your click cannot change the result.
Is there a wheel spinner that removes names after each spin?
Yes. Press Remove in the result window, or turn on “Remove the winner automatically” in Options so every winner leaves the wheel by itself.
Can a wheel spinner be rigged?
Any website could be programmed to cheat, so it is worth knowing how a wheel picks. This one picks the winner with your browser’s cryptographic random generator before the wheel starts turning. The only way to change the odds is weights, and weights change the slice sizes in plain sight and show a Weighted label. See the 1,000,000-spin test.

Yes, after your first visit. You can also install it from your browser menu (Install app or Add to Home Screen).
Do you keep my entries?
No. Entries are stored only in your browser. A share link carries the wheel after the # sign, a part of the address that browsers never send to our server.
